AIA Technical Groups dealing with specific disciplines can be formed upon members proposal to the Board of Directors. The Board can require a period where the interest on the proposed Group and its potential activity is monitored before ratification and approval by the Members’ General Assembly.
At subscription or annual renewal a Member can choose the Technical Group(s) of his interest, and this choice can be modified at his next membership renewal.
Each Technical Group is managed by a Steering Committee elected by the members belonging to the Group and it names a Coordinator who takes part at the Board of Directors meetings.
Four groups are active so far, dealing with Environmental Acoustics (GAA), Building Acoustics (GAE), Architectural and Musical Acoustics (GAM) and noise and vibrations at workplaces (GAL).
